Benefits Eligibility
You are eligible for Goodwin benefits (medical, dental, vision, FSA (employees only)) and voluntary benefits as of your first day of employment.
If you do not make benefit elections within 30 days of your date of hire, you will automatically be enrolled in accidental death and dismemberment insurance, group term life insurance, and group disability coverage. If you take no action, you will waive medical, dental, vision, and FSA insurance.
You have within 30 days from your date of hire to enroll yourself and your family in health care coverage and the voluntary benefits that you want for the year.
Whom You Can Cover
You may also enroll any eligible dependents you have in health benefits through the firm.
Eligible dependents include:
- Your legal spouse or qualified domestic partner
- Your biological, adopted, or foster children under the age of 26, regardless of dependency or marital status
- Your children aged 26 or older who are fully dependent on you for support due to a disability and who are indicated as such on your federal tax return
Paying for Coverage
Goodwin shares a portion of the cost with employees for some of your benefits coverage while you are responsible for the full cost of others.
The chart below shows how premiums are charged and treated for tax purposes. For the full scope of your premium rates, visit iNet.
Partners at Goodwin are responsible for the full cost of all benefits coverage you elect during the enrollment process. These cost deductions are generally withheld on an after-tax basis from your monthly pay. Visit iNet for more information on which benefit premiums or contributions may qualify for tax deductions.
